Even though I have the English original in front of me, I am stuck trying to figure out the following words in boldface:
「．．．私どもはどこからみてもまともな人間です」
不思議とか神秘とかそんな非常識はまるっきり認めない人種で、まか不思議な出来事が彼らの周辺で起こるなんて、とうてい考えられなかった。
"まか" isn't in any of my dictionaries.
As for "人種" I assume it is used humorously here to mark the Dursleys as a particular breed of (obnoxious) humans, because I expected "人間".
