Weblio is a pretty awesome reference site, but it's nearly all Japanese. I'm not sure if that's what the OP was looking for, but for anyone who is, it's a great one-stop shopping spot, so to speak. It pulls from J-J dictionaries (大辞林 was just added -- the same one as at goo), specialty dictionaries, encyclopedias (including Wikipedia), and it has two thesauruses, and a J-E and E-J dictionary.
You can also search by category, and there's a random display feature that will randomly select an entry for you to view. Every day they have a certain topic, seasonal words, and a "what happened today in history" feature, as well as a list of which celebrities were born on that day. It's just got a ton of information.
