Subject: ない vs なくて

これぐらいとか、このようなとか指示できない、不明の状態や性質などを表したり、それを尋ねたりするときに用いる。

Hey, in the sentence above, I was wondering why its できない and not できなくて? It just seems like the sentence would connect better with that instead. But then, I'm probably not interpreting it correctly,
